Italy Ski Trip Day 5

Well, it's still snowing here in. Italy, but we've all managed to get out skiing this morning, practising our slalom technique in between cones. We went out for a pizza last night, which was very nice, and are having our ski presentation evening tonight before a final day on the slopes tomorrow. We hope to be back at Tir Morfa between 2.30 and 3pm on Sunday but will text parents if that changes.
Ciao

Italy Ski Trip Day 4

Ciao from Prato Nevoso where it's still snowing! The picture of the cars outside the hotel should give an indication of the amount of snow we've had, and there's no sign of it letting up. This has made it difficult to ski, and only really competent skiers have gone out this morning. The rest have had a frolic in the snow making snow angels and are now playing the world famous 'Change Game' with Mrs. B.
In the evenings we've been taking part in a variety of activities; swimming in the hotel pool, tubing on big tyres down a ski slope, playing pool and table football and watching football on the TV. Everyone is looking forward to watching Wales beat England in rugby on Friday night and then watch Everton beat Liverpool in football on Saturday evening. Hope all is well back at base.
Arrivederci

Italy Ski Trip Day 3

Greetings from Prato Nevoso. I.t started snowing here at 2pm yesterday and as yet hasn't stopped. The forecast is for further heavy snow through into tomorrow. This has made skiing difficult this morning and everyone is looking forward to lunch. Which brings us on to the theme of food. As requested by Dosbartn Celyn, we've included some photos of Italian food. The day starts with a buffet breakfast (photo attached) with eggs, cold meats, croissants etc., but also with lots of cake, pastries and tarts. Yum! We have a 2 course lunch which involves Antipasti; a selection of fresh vegetables and salad (photo attached) and then a main course of pasta or meat. At dinner we agin start with antipasti, then have Alastair course (last nights pesto dish is attached as a photo) and then a meat or fish course (chicken last night) and then finish with a sweet (ice cream last night). Hopefully all the extra calories are burnt off on the slopes. Will check back in tomorrow when the theme will be evening activities.
Ciao!

We went to the Power Station by Chole Lewis, Tegid

"On Tuesday 11 February Tegid class visited Connah’s Quay power station. We had to wear a yellow helmet, yellow safety vest, safety glasses and ear plugs. We made a circuit with wires, batteries, switches and a bulb and we walked around the power station. We saw some steam coming out of the chimneys. We went to see the machines and it was so loud. There were red and green lines painted all around the power station and we were not allowed to pass the red lines because it was dangerous. We also watched a DVD about keeping safe with electricity in the classroom. Just before we went home we went to see the bird hide to look at the birds on the River Dee. We had so much fun"

Christchurch School visit to Caffi Morfa

This term our School Council invited pupils from Christchurch School to visit our cafĂ©; Caffi Morfa. School Council Treasurer, Shannon, has written the following report.

Christchurch School Pupils at Caffi Morfa

"Our school council had the role of welcoming Christchurch school council who were coming to visit our school. So Katrina and I welcomed them. We took Christchurch to Caffi Morfa where Miss Walsh talked to them. Dylan welcomed the Christchurch people to our school then Miss Walsh talked to the staff and the pupils about what happens at caffi. We enjoyed their visit and hope that we can visit their school one day."
